City Charter High School Achieves Middle States Accreditation, Unveils Strategic Objectives for 2023-2030

PITTSBURGH, PA, 2024  - City Charter High School proudly announces its official accreditation by the Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The accreditation, granted at their November 2023 meeting, reflects City High's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and rigorous educational standards.

The Middle States Accreditation affirms City Charter High School's commitment to providing a high-quality and inclusive learning environment for students in grades 9-12.  In tandem with this accreditation, City High outlines its strategic objectives for the years 2023-2030. These objectives are designed to fortify the school's commitment to equity, student and staff well-being, and honors & advanced learning opportunities. The objectives include:

• Equity: Prioritize more equitable practices to improve student connections to the school community, reduce exclusionary discipline, and increase opportunities for student voice.
• Honors & Advanced Learning: Increase the diversity and total number of students participating in advanced learning opportunities, ensuring broader access to academic excellence.
• Student and Staff Well-being:  Enhance programming to address the social and emotional needs of both students and staff, fostering a supportive atmosphere for personal and academic growth.
