City Charter High School is seeking an innovative and motivated Assistant Principal to work within an urban high school as a collaborative member of the administrative, grade level, and leadership teams. Position start date, with some flexibility, is July 1, 2025.
Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania certification as a Secondary or K-12 Principal.
- Proof of Federal Criminal History Background Check, Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check.
- Have an understanding of curriculum and instructional best practices.
- Excellent leadership qualities, technology competency, communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to think and act creatively and implement non-traditional systems within a charter school environment.

- Visits classrooms daily to talk to students about their work, observe instruction and make the connections between what is being taught and the assessed needs of students.

- Stays current with and implements educational best practices; helps to promote, facilitate, and assure corresponding professional development.
- Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct and health of students.
- Maintains high standards of student conduct, mediates student issues, and implements consequences that are restorative and ensures student safety.

Very competitive salary commensurate with experience, demonstrated skills and performance. Salary range: $95,000+. City Charter High School, an urban public charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh, is seeking a full time Facilities Manager.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the building's operations, including maintenance, repairs, cleaning and space management, to ensure a safe and functional workspace by coordinating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities for safety compliance, and planning renovations or updates as needed.
The responsibility of this position includes maintaining all CCHS occupied floors. The position is expected to promote a clean, safe and healthy environment for all Students and Staff. This position must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on department and school requirements. The Facilities Manager is a 12-month contracted position.

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a certified Fitness/Health teacher to teach Fitness and Health courses to students in grades 9-12.
Health courses are primarily taught to 10th and 12th grade students as a requirement for graduation and also as an elective. Units covered in the health courses may include: Relationships, Health and Nutrition, Sex Education, Chronic Diseases and Drugs and Alcohol.
Physical education classes will be taught within our building in our physical education facility. The position requires the teacher to plan and implement physical education classes within the areas of weight training, cardio and teacher led group exercise classes.
The position includes a salary range starting at $50,500 and includes a full medical, dental, and vision benefits package, 10 days of paid time off, a 401k retirement plan, and an educational stipend for those interested in continuing education. Staff at City High also have the benefit of having three Mondays off of school a month, leaving the other working Monday available for professional development and co-planning.

City Charter High School is looking to hire a permanent building substitute to join our school community. The position will include working Tuesday through Friday on a weekly basis from 7:45 to 3:45 at a rate of $175.00 per day. The candidate must be flexible and comfortable in working with various content areas and high school-aged students.
Certification Requirements:
If you hold a Pennsylvania public educator certificate or a professional-level out-of-state educator certificate, you may be eligible to become a day-to-day substitute.
Requirements for day-to-day substitutes:
- Valid Pennsylvania educator certificate or out-of-state certificate
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalency) if not certified
- Background clearances
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien status (green card)
If you do not hold the proper certification but have a bachelor’s degree, City High will apply for an emergency permit for a substitute position.
