City Charter High School, an urban public charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh, is seeking a full time Art Teacher. The position includes teaching 9th and 10th grade introductory art courses and teaching 11th grade elective courses such as photography, sculpture, watercolor, drawing and electronic art. The position allows for flexibility in teaching different courses using different mediums depending on the experience of the candidate.

City High is looking for a creative and flexible person who is willing to collaborate within a smaller department but highlight the artwork of students within the building. The arts are an important piece of the student experience at City High.

The position includes a salary range starting at $50,500, and includes a full medical, dental and vision benefits package, 10 days of paid time off, 401k retirement plan, a transportation stipend and an educational stipend for those interested in continuing education. Staff at City High also have the benefit of having most Mondays off (3-day weekend) leaving one working Monday per month for professional development, co-planning and parent-teacher conferences. City Charter High School is seeking a motivational individual to lead and direct the student transition process from high school to postsecondary education or work, including:
  • Design and manage the protocol to systematically provide services that ensure every graduate will transition appropriately.  
  • Help facilitate the development of individual student college and career plans in coordination with a student’s teacher advisor, learning support teacher (where relevant), career teacher, parent/guardian, and other relevant professionals.
  • Provide necessary support to enhance opportunities for success the year following high school graduation. 

Qualifications
A college degree and 3 – 5 years working in secondary education, college/postsecondary admissions, or comparable fields are required. A master’s degree in secondary education, counseling, or pupil personnel services is preferred. A track record of developing or working effectively within a successful guidance program. Salary Range & Benefits
Hiring salary range: $50,500 to $62,710; Negotiable based on experience.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a certified Fitness/Health teacher to teach Fitness and Health courses to students in grades 9-12. 

Health courses are primarily taught to 10th and 12th grade students as a requirement for graduation and also as an elective. Units covered in the health courses may include: Relationships, Health and Nutrition, Sex Education, Chronic Diseases and Drugs and Alcohol.

Physical education classes will be taught within our building in our physical education facility. The position requires the teacher to plan and implement physical education classes within the areas of weight training, cardio and teacher led group exercise classes.

City Charter High School, an urban public charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh, is seeking a full time Community and Strategic Communications Assistant.

The Community and Strategic Communications Assistant will play a vital role in fostering meaningful connections between City High, its families, and the broader community. This position focuses on community outreach, creating partnerships with local organizations, and designing inclusive programming that supports student success and family engagement. The Assistant will also support strategic communications by managing social media content, performing website updates, and contributing to the school’s recruitment efforts. With a focus on collaboration, this role works closely with Director of Enrollment and Strategic Communications to enhance outreach and recruitment strategies, promote in-house events and strengthen external relationships.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Community Engagement, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in community outreach, communications, or event coordination is highly desirable.

City Charter High School is looking to hire a permanent building substitute to join our school community. The position will include working Tuesday through Friday on a weekly basis from 7:45 to 3:45 at a rate of $175.00 per day. The candidate must be flexible and comfortable in working with various content areas and high school-aged students.

Certification Requirements:
If you hold a Pennsylvania public educator certificate or a professional-level out-of-state educator certificate, you may be eligible to become a day-to-day substitute.

Requirements for day-to-day substitutes:

  • Valid Pennsylvania educator certificate or out-of-state certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalency) if not certified
  • Background clearances
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien status (green card)


If you do not hold the proper certification but have a bachelor’s degree, City High will apply for an emergency permit for a substitute position.
