Spanish Teacher

City Charter High School is seeking a full-time, 10th grade, creative and innovative Spanish Teacher who is excited to take the current Spanish program to the next level.

City High is a public, urban charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh serving students in grades 9-12. For more specific information, please visit www.cityhigh.org.

The Spanish Teacher position requires the candidate to be certified in Spanish K-12 and have experience teaching high school students. As the only Spanish teacher within the school, you will teach all students in the 10th grade, a Spanish I and culture based course in two parts throughout the school year.

The candidate must be proficient in differentiating curriculum for students of all levels and must be able to collaborate with other teachers within the classroom and on the grade level team.

The curriculum is flexible and used to gain interest in promoting students to take dual-enrollment based courses and/or participate in the Costa Rica Service Trip each school year.

Position includes medical, dental and vision benefits, ten personal days (bonus paid for days not used), a $3,000 educational stipend per year and a generous retirement package. Salary range will be discussed during the interview process and begins at $45,000.

Art Teacher-Adjunct Position

City Charter High School, an urban public charter school located in downtown Pittsburgh, is seeking an adjunct Art Teacher. The position includes teaching 11th and 12th grade elective courses such as photography, watercolor, drawing and electronic art. The position allows for flexibility in teaching different courses using different mediums depending on the experience of the candidate. City High is looking for a creative and flexible person who is interested in contributing to the overall arts program at the school. School Nurse

City Charter High School, a 9th-12th urban high school in downtown Pittsburgh, looking for a full-time school nurse.

Responsibilities:
The school nurse is responsible for coordinating, collaborating, planning for, and, in most cases, providing direct services to ensure that the school district’s health program, as defined by the Pennsylvania School Code, School District Policies, and the PA Dept. of Health Division of School Health Regulations is carried out according to the specifics in the law. The goals of the school nurse position are to maintain and/or improve the health status of students, thus enabling them to profit fully from their educational experiences; and, to promote optimum health status and lifestyles for all students through the joint efforts of the home, school and community.

Qualifications include current PA Registered Nurse license , Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN), Certification as Educational Specialist by PA DOE , CPR/AED certification, Background/experience preferred in pediatric nursing, community health nursing, critical care nursing, medical-surgical nursing and/or emergency room nursing, knowledge of current Child Abuse Law, required Act 48 continuing education coursework for Nursing license and Education Specialist II certificate and required State and Federal clearances.

Learning Support Teaching Associate

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a teaching associate to work alongside the special education learning support teachers. The teaching associate position involves assisting students with disabilities within a fully inclusive environment across all academic areas and collaborating with the special education teachers to implement IEPs and progress monitor.
