Math Teacher

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a mathematics teacher. Position requires implementation of the interactive mathematics curriculum within a collaborative work environment involving a learning support teacher and/or teaching associate. Science Teacher

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a science teacher who is familiar with scientific modeling instruction that includes teaching varied subject matter to students in a heterogeneous classroom.  City High’s looping model requires the teacher to provide instruction within the areas of biology, basic chemistry concepts, environmental and physical science from 9th through 12th grades.  Science/Research Teaching Associate

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a Science/Research Teaching Associate.  This position requires collaboration with the Science and Research classroom teachers in implementing curriculum and classroom instruction in the 12th grade senior model. The position requires the Teaching Associate to work with students of multiple ability levels within Science and Research courses.  The primary responsibilities include:  managing the Science open lab times, helping students conduct experiments on their independent science projects, supporting students in preparing for their graduation project presentations, and coordinating the graduation project presentation panels. This position requires the candidate to be extremely organized and detail-oriented, and to be able to build relationships with students.  Interested candidates must be Science certified and have a strong background in the writing process. Fitness/Health Teacher

City Charter High School is a public, 9-12, urban charter school looking to hire a certified Fitness/Health teacher to teach Fitness and Health courses to students in grades 9-12 and accompany students to the YMCA.

Health courses are primarily taught to 9th and 12th grade students as a requirement for graduation and also as an elective. Units covered in the health courses may include: Relationships, Health and Nutrition, Sex Education, Chronic Diseases and Drugs and Alcohol.

Through the 16-17 school year, end of the 3rd trimester (July 28th, 2016), the Physical Education portion of the position will include accompanying students to and from the Downtown YMCA and supervising classes while at the YMCA. At the start of the 17-18 school year, physical education classes will be taught within our building in our new physical education facility. The position requires the teacher to plan and implement physical education classes within the areas of weight training, cardio and teacher led group exercise classes.
